About Joseph
My name is Joseph, and I am a freelance composer, producer, and sound designer based in Los Angeles. Over the past 15 years, my music has been featured in more than 500 television series, advertisements, and films worldwide. This professional experience has given me a deep understanding of both the creative and technical sides of music-making, which I bring directly into my lessons. In addition to my composing work, I release music under my personal artist project, Glo Phase, which has earned label releases (including physical formats) and a strong following on YouTube. Through this project, I explore electronic music in both hardware and software environments, demonstrating my expertise with synthesizers, drum machines, and other electronic instruments. I’m passionate about helping students develop confidence in their creativity while gaining practical skills to produce professional-quality music. Whether you’re just beginning or already advanced, I aim to provide a supportive, structured, and inspiring learning environment that adapts to your goals and helps you reach your full potential.

My teaching approach is highly adaptable and tailored to each student. I focus on building upon your strengths while helping you address areas that need improvement. I believe that the modern producer should be as self-sufficient as possible, so I emphasize a well-rounded understanding of music creation—from sound design and arranging to mixing and final production.
A typical lesson often combines technical skills with creative exploration. We might break down a specific production technique, analyze a track you admire, or work step-by-step through one of your own projects. I like to compartmentalize broader concepts into smaller, digestible sections so that each idea can be clearly understood on its own.
I encourage lots of questions and open discussion, since I’ve found curiosity to be the most powerful way to learn. My role is to be both supportive and challenging—helping you stay motivated while pushing you to grow.
I teach students from complete beginners to advanced producers, and I’ve worked with a wide variety of personalities and learning styles. Whether your goal is to start producing electronic music, sharpen your audio engineering skills, or take your DJing to the next level, I’ll meet you where you are and guide you forward.
