About Chris
I hold a PhD in Music/Visual Art Studies and have been working as an educator in some capacity for 10 years, teaching drums for 3 of those years at various music schools and privately. I love connecting with students over music, discovering new sources of inspiration, and encouraging players to think both technically and creatively. For me, the most rewarding experience is seeing drum students develop their own identity behind the kit, or simply nailing that tricky section we've been working on for weeks!

Hey, I’m Chris and I’m super passionate about helping budding drummers unlock their full potential! Whether you’re just starting out, playing with bandmates, or preparing for your next Trinity College London or Rockschool exam, my online lessons are tailored to help you successfully find your own groove and have fun along the way! I am particularly used to working with children, teenagers and young adults, and therefore hold an advanced PVG certificate and am accredited through the TES course Child Protection in Education (Music).
I believe learning drums should be an exciting and rewarding experience. With a positive and encouraging approach, I aim to make every lesson a highlight of your week. A typical session starts with a rudiments-based warm-up to build solid technique and control, followed by focused work on your chosen song repertoire or notation practice. To finish, we’ll jam together, applying what you’ve learnt in a creative, relaxed way.
With years of experience in teaching and performing, both in live gigs and professional recording studios, I know how to make lessons engaging, practical, and suited to your goals. Whether you’re aiming for exam success, joining a band, or just playing for the sheer joy of it, I’ll guide you every step of the way.
