About Stephanie
I am an experienced educator with over 15 years of experience as a classroom teacher, instructional leader, and curriculum specialist. I hold a Bachelor's degree in English and a Master's degree in Educational Leadership, and I am passionate about helping students build both academic skills and confidence.
Originally from Colorado, I moved to Texas five years ago with my family. My husband is a coach, and together we are raising three wonderful children, ages 13, 9, and 1. As both an educator and a parent, I understand the importance of meeting students where they are, celebrating their progress, and helping them develop the skills they need to thrive.
My goal is to create a supportive, encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, taking risks, and growing as learners. I believe every student can succeed when instruction is personalized to their unique strengths, needs, and learning style.
I specialize in elementary and middle school reading, writing, language arts, study skills, and academic support. Whether a student needs help mastering foundational skills, catching up, preparing for assessments, or seeking enrichment opportunities, I provide structured, engaging lessons designed to promote both achievement and independence.

My approach as a tutor is centered on building confidence, strengthening foundational skills, and helping students become independent learners. I believe students learn best when instruction is engaging, personalized, and connected to their individual strengths and goals.
I use a gradual release model ("I do, We do, You do"), incorporating modeling, guided practice, immediate feedback, and opportunities for students to apply new skills independently. Lessons are tailored to each student's needs, learning style, and pace. I focus not only on academic content but also on study habits, organization, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
A typical lesson begins with a quick review of previous learning, followed by explicit instruction on a targeted skill. Students then practice with support before completing independent tasks that allow me to assess understanding and adjust future instruction.
What sets me apart is my 15+ years of experience in education as a teacher, instructional leader, and curriculum specialist. I have extensive experience differentiating instruction, identifying learning gaps, and helping students make meaningful academic growth while maintaining a positive and encouraging learning environment.
My lessons are designed for elementary and middle school students, particularly those seeking support in reading, writing, language arts, and academic enrichment. I also work with students who need additional confidence, structure, and motivation to reach their full potential.
