About Jocelyn
I am an Ontario Certified Teacher and Cambridge University qualified (CELTA) English as a Second Language teacher. I hold an Honours Bachelor of Education from Lakehead University (Thunder Bay, Ontario) and have worked in a Toronto Language school for over two years. I have taught both one-on-one and in larger group settings to students ranging from complete beginners to advanced (Canadian Language Benchmarks).

When I teach English to international students, my main focus is to make my lessons more of a conversation than a lecture. In other words, I want to hear from YOU, and what you want to focus on, rather than me decide what is best for you. Whether you want your focus to be pronunciation practice, fluency, reading/writing comprehension, or even just survival English (how do you order from Starbucks when the people speak so quickly?!?), I want to help you improve as an English speaker. Above all, I want my students to feel comfortable and relaxed when they are practicing their English skills, in a setting where they do not feel ashamed or embarrassed for taking on this challenge. I am here to help you, and I hope we can laugh a little along the way!
