About Arthur
Hey there! I have BSc. in Chemistry from Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ). I worked as an official tutor for UFRJ for more than 3 years in General and Inorganic Chemistry. Now I’m doing my PhD in Chemistry at University of Sheffield. My enthusiasm for teaching was started at school, as a hobby. After that my school offered me a position of tutoring. I consider myself a very curious person, which led me to choose Chemistry as my first and only graduate studies option. I personally call it, the “The Science of Why”. Chemistry makes you wonder why things happen, and makes you figure and evaluate clever choices to explain a multitude of phenomena (could be a day-by-day or a specific one). I like to think and make people think. That’s the main reason I am engaged with some teaching activities and social work, like tutoring. I believe this ever questioning of the world we live in and leading my students on this road of knowledge is the key to a better future. Along the years I had such a pleasurable time deepening my knowledge in General and Inorganic Chemistry, which leads me to high grades in these subjects. I achieved 9.5/10 in Inorganic Chemistry (95%)! And believe me, this topic is REALLY challenging and interesting! Well, I look forward to meeting you! University : - Federal University of Rio de Janeiro(UFRJ) - BSc. - University of Sheffield - PhD - 2017/2020 Other Qualifications : I had 1 year tutoring for my school, and at UFRJ I was tutor for more than 3 years: - Tutor of General Chemistry - Tutor of Inorganic Chemistry - Tutor of General Chemistry Lab As a tutor I gave several complementary lectures for those who are struggling with any of these subjects. Also was my duty to elaborate exercises and activities for best understanding of correlated themes.

A great tutor, pacient with the students and dedicated to teaching. No one leaves the class with doubts. One of the best teachers I've had.
One of the most inteligent chemistry students I have ever known. He was always able to help me and other friends. His knowledge of general chemistry is amazing, specially atomic models and spectroscopy.
I am Yasmim Jaconiano and Arthur was tutor of Inorganic Chemistry when I did this subject at college last semester.
He is very helpfuly and has so much pacient. Arthur is a kind of person who always be there to help everybody all of time. There is something important abou him: Archie is always on time and it was something what helped me to organize my schedule for studying.View more recommendations
