About Mr Nowaczyk (No-vat-chick)
At heart, I am an English teacher with over twenty years’ experience teaching in UK secondary schools. I have taught pupils aged 11–18 across GCSE English Language and Literature and A Level English Literature.
I currently work as Head of the English and Media Faculty, as well as a Teaching and Learning Coach, supporting teachers to be excellent in their subject areas.
Alongside this, I have experience as a GCSE examiner, so I am extremely knowledgeable about what students need to do to be successful in examinations. Moreover, I have previously been a Deputy Head of Department and a Literacy Co-ordinator, roles that deepened my passion for helping learners grow in confidence, clarity and independence.
Outside the classroom, I love writing fiction — especially poetry — playing the guitar, football and hiking in the Welsh mountains with my dog, Benji. I also enjoy travelling with my wife, meeting new people and learning about different cultures, particularly through art galleries, museums and vibrant food markets.
