About Sodiq
I see myself not only as a history tutor but also as someone who reflects deeply on life, society, and the ways in which the past influences the present. For me, history isn't just about memorising facts; it’s a means to understand human nature, power dynamics, culture, and societal change.
I chose to teach because I’ve seen how students are often made to memorise without understanding. That approach kills curiosity. My aim is different. I want students to truly see history, connect events, and think for themselves. When you understand the story behind events, you don’t struggle to remember; it stays with you.
I teach to influence how people think, not merely to help them pass exams. However, this also leads to a deeper understanding and improved performance.

I am a history tutor who thinks students struggle with history not because the subject is difficult, but because it is often taught in a confusing manner. My method is straightforward: simplify complex topics into clear ideas, tell events as a narrative, and emphasise what is essential for exams.
I tailor my approach to each student's level and pace, ensuring they grasp concepts deeply rather than just memorise facts. My aim is to help you gain confidence, develop critical thinking skills, and enter any history exam well-prepared.
