About Jodie
Hello, I'm Jodie, an experienced IB Geography educator from the UK originally with over 20 years of teaching this incredible subject. I am currently Head of Geography at a leading international school in Singapore.
Over the course of my career, I have lived and taught in the UK, Egypt, Oman and Singapore, working with students from diverse backgrounds and helping many achieve outstanding results in IB Geography. Alongside my classroom experience, I am an experienced IB examiner, having examined all three Geography papers and currently serving as a Senior Examiner for Paper 1. This insider understanding of assessment criteria enables me to help students develop the knowledge, skills and exam techniques needed to maximise their grades.
I genuinely love Geography and believe students learn best when lessons are engaging, visual and carefully tailored to their individual needs. Whether students need support mastering challenging concepts, improving exam performance, or navigating their Internal Assessment or Extended Essay, I aim to build confidence as well as competence.
Outside of school, I enjoy travelling, spending time in nature and exploring new places with my two children. At 45, I still feel incredibly fortunate to work in a subject that inspires curiosity about the world and I enjoy helping students discover that same enthusiasm for Geography.

I have over 20 years of experience teaching IB Diploma Geography and currently serve as a Head of Geography in Singapore. Throughout my career, I have supported students in achieving excellent examination outcomes in leading international schools in Cairo, Oman and Singapore.
I also bring extensive examiner expertise, having examined all three IB Geography examination papers and currently working as a Senior Examiner for Paper 1. This gives me a detailed understanding of assessment expectations, common misconceptions and the strategies that help students maximise marks.
My tutoring is tailored to the individual needs of each student and can focus on:
- Developing effective examination technique and revision strategies
- Strengthening understanding of specific topics and concepts from any IB Geography unit
- Academic coaching to improve confidence, organisation and study habits
- Support with the Internal Assessment (IA), including research design, analysis and evaluation
- Guidance on the Extended Essay in Geography
Lessons are delivered online on a one-to-one basis and typically last one hour. Sessions are highly interactive and make extensive use of high quality visual resources, carefully designed learning activities and well organised supporting materials. Students retain access to these materials throughout our time working together, enabling them to revisit content and continue practising independently between sessions.
I work exclusively with IB Diploma Geography students, supporting both Standard Level (SL) and Higher Level (HL) learners seeking to improve understanding, refine exam performance or achieve the highest possible grades.
