About Andrew
I am a former Head of History and school leader. I am an examiner for a lead exam board and have led teams of examiners through various option papers. I am also a parent having supported my own children through GCSE and A levels, as well as successfully guiding students through GCSE and A level and on to University including Oxbridge. My sessions are always planned with students, to precisely focus on the areas of the course or skills that we should address. Sessions are online, and my first, shorter session is free...as a student you have to feel that we can work together, that you are comfortable and importantly feel that you are making progress.

Hello and thank you for reading this. My approach is to clearly discuss with each student what their needs are: it may be reinforcing subject knowledge, unpicking exam technique or explaining some topic areas in different ways...to scaffold learning over time. I also hope that my sessions will give students confidence, support and importantly academic progress. As a parent, teacher, examiner and former school leader I am fully aware of the worries and concerns students can have regarding the size of exam courses, the speed with which teaching has to happen and the common mistakes which exam candidates make...and which can easily be rectified. Finally, I want students to enjoy History and to be successful.
