About Ashlye
I am an experienced educator with a Master’s degree in Sociology from Sam Houston State University and a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Texas A&M University. I currently serve as a Math Department Head, where I teach a variety of subjects and support students with different learning styles, academic goals, and needs. My background combines classroom teaching, curriculum development, and individualized instruction. I am passionate about helping students recognize their strengths, overcome academic challenges, and develop confidence in their abilities. I strive to create a welcoming, patient, and encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and learning at their own pace. My goal is not only to help students improve their grades but also to develop the skills, independence, and confidence they need for long-term academic success.

My teaching approach is personalized, supportive, and focused on helping students build confidence while developing a strong understanding of the material. As a Math Department Head and experienced educator, I adapt each lesson to the student's individual learning style, academic goals, and current skill level. I use clear explanations, guided practice, real-world examples, interactive activities, and step-by-step problem-solving to make challenging concepts easier to understand.
A typical lesson begins by reviewing previous material and identifying areas that need additional support. We then work through new concepts together, practice problems with guidance, and gradually build toward independent mastery. I encourage students to ask questions, learn from mistakes, and develop problem-solving skills they can use beyond the classroom.
I offer tutoring in mathematics, English, and social studies for elementary, middle school, and high school students. My math experience includes Pre-Algebra, Algebra I and II, Geometry, Precalculus, Statistics, and elementary and middle school math. I also support English Language Arts and a wide range of history and social studies courses. My goal is to help every student feel supported, capable, and prepared to succeed academically.
