About Amarian
Hi, I’m Amarian—a dedicated and experienced student tutor who’s passionate about helping others succeed in math, especially Algebra. As an active leader in National Honor Society, Emerging Leaders, and several academic and arts-based programs at Mesquite High School, I’ve developed strong communication and teaching skills that allow me to connect with students in a way that’s both supportive and effective. My goal is to create a safe, encouraging learning environment where students can ask questions without fear and leave each session feeling more confident in their abilities. I believe that everyone can understand math with the right approach, and I’m here to guide you every step of the way. Hi! I’m Amarian, a passionate and involved student leader with a strong background in math—especially algebra. My approach to tutoring is built around making sure students feel confident, supported, and genuinely understand what they’re learning, not just memorize steps.
My Teaching Method & Techniques:
I break down algebra concepts into simple, relatable steps using real-life examples and clear visuals. I like to use guided practice, interactive problem-solving, and check-in questions to make sure the student is understanding as we go. I also encourage students to explain their thinking—because teaching back is one of the best ways to learn!
A Typical Lesson Plan:
Quick warm-up to review previous concepts
Go over the day's topic (ex: solving equations, factoring, graphing) with examples
Practice together with increasing difficulty
Independent try-it-yourself problems with support
End with a recap, tips, and goals for next time
