About Afra
Hi! My name is Afra, and I’m a neuroscience student (pre-pharmacy) at the University of Illinois Chicago with hands-on experience working with students as a tutor. I have a strong interest in science and enjoy helping students understand subjects that may initially seem difficult or overwhelming. I previously worked as a tutor at Cedar Tutoring Center, where I provided individualized academic instruction to students ranging from elementary school through 12th grade. I worked with students in mathematics, science, and other academic subjects, helping them improve their understanding, problem-solving skills, and overall academic performance. Whether you are looking for regular academic support, homework help, test preparation, practice with challenging topics, or help strengthening your foundation in math or science, I am happy to work with you. I will tailor each lesson to your individual goals and pace.

I have hands-on tutoring experience working with students from elementary school through high school. At Cedar Tutoring Center, I provided individualized academic support in math, science, and other subjects. I worked with students at different academic levels and learned how important it is to be patient and adjust my teaching style based on how each student learns best. I also took plenty of AP (Advanced Placement) classes in high school, including AP Chemistry, AP Biology, AP Statistics, AP Government and Politics, AP U.S. History, AP Language and Composition, and AP Microeconomics. Because I have recently gone through many of these subjects myself, I understand where students commonly get stuck and how challenging certain concepts can feel.
