About Yachna
I am an Electronics Engineering graduate with 15+ years of experience based in Melbourne with a strong passion for mathematics and problem-solving.
My experience has trained me to approach problems logically, break down complex ideas into simple steps, and find practical solutions. I enjoy helping students see that math isn’t something to fear, but something they can understand and master with the right guidance.
I chose to teach because I’ve seen how much confidence impacts performance. Many students struggle not because they lack ability, but because they lack clarity and belief in themselves. I want to change that. There is nothing more rewarding than watching a student go from “I can’t do this” to “I understand it now!”
I am patient, supportive, and committed to creating a comfortable learning environment where students feel safe asking questions. My goal is not just to improve grades, but to build confidence, strong foundations, and independent thinking skills that last beyond the classroom.

My lessons are structured, personalised, and designed to make maths clear and manageable for every student.
At the start, I assess the student’s current level to understand their strengths and gaps. From there, I create a customised learning plan that focuses on building strong foundations before moving on to more advanced topics.
Each lesson includes:
1) Clear step-by-step explanations
2) Worked examples with guided practice
3) Independent problem-solving practice 4) Homework support (if needed)
5) Exam strategies for SACs, NAPLAN, and VCE
I teach students how to think logically and approach problems systematically — skills that are essential not just for maths, but for overall academic success.
For younger students, I make lessons interactive and engaging to build confidence early. For secondary and VCE students, I focus on deeper understanding, exam techniques, and time management strategies.
