About Urma
My experience ranges from primary school to mature students having a career change, I am most comfortable teaching A level and GCSE biology as I am studying at university. Every student I have taught has achieved their predicted grade or higher with one mature student having a career change being able to improve her grade to a distinction and is now studying at her first choice university, the university of York. Maths is the subject I am most experienced in with exceptional understanding and knowledge of the GCSE syllabus. Last academic year I was tutoring 5 students in GCSE and below maths and feel confident I can help many more students reach their full potential.

My approach to teaching is building confidence and improving exam technique as these are often the two biggest set backs for students. I am very good at communicating and explaining things and I am well practiced with school students from my previous tutoring experience and from having a younger sister. I ask for students to come to every lesson with a clear idea on what they don't understand so I can plan and find useful resources, I often use videos, textbooks and online worksheets to really further their understanding. I want students to feel comfortable that they can ask me any questions as there are no stupid questions! I have an extensive collection of my own handmade revision notes and access to dozens of very old past papers and marking schemes to ensure students are well practiced.
