About Buster
I tutor because I've always had a passion for maths, and when a concept finally clicks for a tutee it's an immensely satisfying moment. I'm proud of being able to explain difficult concepts in ways that you can understand.
Because Maths can often feel daunting, I like to take lessons one step at a time to make sure the learning environment feels as comfortable as possible, so that students can fully engage with the content at hand without feeling nervous or blocked.
Whatever is holding a student back in maths, I've likely seen it before, and I have plenty of practice adapting my teaching to how each person learns best!

Before the first lesson, I will get to know you: what you are working to achieve, your learning style and your strengths and weaknesses. From there, in each lesson we will focus on a specific topic area, breaking down the ideas in a way that works for you. I believe once someone understands HOW a concept works they will be much more confident in solving problems.
Once you have a good conceptual understanding of a topic, we will move on to topic-specific questions together to identify anything that might trip you up. Depending on your strengths and weaknesses, I also like to focus on exam-specific techniques at GCSE and A-level, as these can often be just as important for improving one's grades!
Note: lessons cancelled within 24h of the scheduled time will be charged in full
