About Ali-Raza
Hi! I’m a friendly and committed maths tutor with years of experience supporting students from primary level up to GCSE. I hold a BSc in Biochemistry from King’s College London and am currently studying Medicine at St George’s University of London. I’ve always had a passion for helping others learn — I find it incredibly rewarding to see students grow in confidence and begin to enjoy a subject they once found challenging. Teaching maths gives me the chance to break down tricky concepts and find what works best for each individual. Whether you're looking to build a stronger foundation, prepare for exams, or just stop feeling overwhelmed by numbers, I’m here to help. My lessons are calm, supportive, and fully tailored to you — no pressure, no judgement, just progress. I look forward to working with you and helping you reach your goals.

I offer tailored maths tutoring for primary, secondary, and GCSE students, with a focus on building confidence, solidifying core skills, and achieving tangible academic progress. I adapt my teaching to suit each student’s learning style, whether they need help catching up, preparing for exams, or pushing for top grades. My lessons are structured but flexible. I typically start with a quick review of previous material, followed by step-by-step teaching of new topics using worked examples and active questioning. I break down complex concepts into simple, manageable parts and use visual aids and analogies where helpful. I incorporate active recall, spaced repetition, and exam-style practice to ensure the student retains and applies what they’ve learnt. Lessons are usually 60 minutes, but I can adapt the timing depending on the student’s needs and attention span — especially for younger learners. I have a BSc in Biochemistry from King’s College London and I’m currently a medical student at St George’s University of London. I’ve worked as a maths teaching assistant, supported GCSE students with 1:1 tutoring, and helped children from ages 4 to 15 in both school and private tutoring settings. I also have experience working with students who have special educational needs. My lessons are suitable for students from primary school up to GCSE level (ages 6–16). I work with students of all abilities — whether they’re struggling with foundational topics or aiming for top marks in their exams. Above all, my goal is to make maths less intimidating and more enjoyable, helping students feel confident and capable in every session.
