About Hanshika
Hi! I'm a rising sophomore studying at the Rutgers Business School with a strong academic background and a passion for helping students build more confidence in their academics. Having taken the SAT myself, I understand the challenges students face and know the strategies to overcome them. While I have gained expertise from taking multiple tests, I have learned even more from tutoring students and understanding common patterns. I am an encouraging and articulate tutor who works very closely with my students and tries to guide them through problems in a clear and understandable way. I believe every student can improve with consistent practice and a structured plan, and I am here to provide that. My goal is to create a supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, build confidence in their abilities, and develop the skills they need.

My lesson plans are personalized to each student's strengths and weaknesses to ensure progress throughout the course.
A typical lesson begins with answering homework questions and reviewing mistakes. This is done in a quick and straightforward manner where the goal is identifying patterns rather than simply correcting answers. After this first 10 minutes, we focus on diving deep into one SAT concept in depth through a lesson guide, examples, and targeted practice. Throughout each week, the student will have a personalized error log and vocabulary notebook to track progress and prevent repeated mistakes.
Over several weeks, we cover words in context, structure and function, main ideas, evidence and inference, cross-text comparisons, rhetorical synthesis, grammar, and timed practice. Homework includes short concept-focused practice sets and full-length practice tests, which students submit before each lesson so we can make every session as productive as possible.
What sets me apart is my focus on understanding why mistakes happen and how I cater each lesson plan to the needs of the student. Instead of memorizing tricks, I teach students how to think through SAT questions step by step, helping them build lasting skills and confidence that translate into higher scores.
