I believe that every student is unique with different talents and learning styles, I modify my teaching approach to best suit for them. I create the learning environment relaxing and enjoyable and yet the lessons are productive and informative on the technical skills. I teach interpretations on the repertoires as well as effective ways for practicing.
When teaching young students, I like to work closely to students' parents in order to support the learning of the students to ensure that the best learning outcome can be achieved.

Attracted by Jason's performance as well as his willingness and gentleness in sharing his observations and suggestions, I arranged my son to learn cello from Jason some 5-6 years ago. My anxiety-prone son has been at ease with Jason's relaxing and playful teaching style. Jason's thoughtful choices of pieces have also appropriately inspired and challenged my son. My son has now learnt to look for pieces he likes and practises them on his own. Playing cello has also become a means of relaxation for my son. Thanks Jason for your passion and role-modelling.
Jason is one of our best cello tutor. He is very patient and passionate. He has students from age 4 to adults, each of them enjoys Jason’s lesson very much.
Jason helps to develop their potential in music, build up their techniques in cello playing. Quite a number of Jason’s students has achieved the ATCL with promising results from Trinity College.
Jason has been my daughter’s cello tutor for two years. My daughter loves to learn playing Cello with him. He is a very flexible teacher, understanding that every student is different and the way each student learns is different, and he is willing to adjust his teaching methods accordingly. My daughter is still having online class with him now even after he moved to UK.
Jason is an expert. He is not only experienced and proficient with the cello, but also sophisticated in the methods of teaching. Jason has the ability of discovering the most effective way to tutor every individual student.
Personally, when I first started my cello training, the two teachers before Jason decided that because I wasn’t willing to practice outside of lessons, it wasn’t possible to enhance my skills. Thankfully with Jason, it was a different story. He actually urged me on, occasionally providing more advanced scores instead of leaving me to study the same music for years. Ultimately, I had reached grade 7, and have become more eager to learn nowadays.
Additionally, and most importantly, Jason ensures that a positive learning environment is maintained. He’s not someone to typically snap at you whenever you’ve made an error. In fact, he may even creates jokes to keep you motivated in lessons.
Jason is passion in cello, he is very experienced in performance and teaching and he is a very patient and carefully person, I can learnt a lot of performance skills and music theory from him, whether children or adults, he can teach very good, I learnt from him few years, until he moved to UK
After dropping cello for over 30 years, I had joined Jason’s cello group class for over nearly 5 years before he moved to UK. Jason’s teaching is not only professional in terms of playing techniques and interpretations but also full of fun. I regained passion in cello under his teaching and been looking forward to his class every week. I would recommend Jason to you without hesitation no matter whether you are an adult, a kid or a parent.
Janson is incredibly patient and funny. He really knows how to clarify the concepts from class and make class somewhat fun and exciting.
Jason is an excellent cello teacher. My son Rex is now 15. He has been learning cello from Jason for 11 years already. Rex is a fast learner but has his own ways, sometime quite stubborn. Jason has all the patience and skills which leads Rex follow the good ways to play the cello, and most importantly to enjoy playing it.
I am an adult learner and started from zero techniques and have been taking lessons with Jason for more than 2 years. Jason is a professional musician and tutor. He shares his great practice tips and artistic interpretations for each piece. He is patient and easy to get along with. Helped me improved and built up my passion for cello.
Jason has been my son's cello tutor for over two years. He helped my son navigate the musical world, and got the first prize in the Schools Music Festival . He is methodical, knowledgeable and calm. He never hesitates to communicate with parents after classes, giving detailed feedback and instructive suggestions.
