Having lived for a long time in 4 different countries (France, Germany, Switzerland, UK) I can describe myself as an outgoing open minded person who has learned to be very adaptable to new people, cultures and learning methods. My first purpose when I start to teach is to set clear goals and deliver bespoke engaging and lively sessions for each student to achieve her/his best. I am also assessing the level and the progress of the student at the beginning of each lesson so that we can keep going on a solid basis. I pick all the tools needed from a wide range of material and references I have collected (and still collect) during my longstanding experience as a linguist. I try to choose these tools according to the student's needs, interests and abilities (which I have tried to recognise as quickly as possible) to make the learning of grammar and vocabulary as engaging as possible. Last but not least teaching and learning have always been for me an intertwined ongoing process.
I am a professional linguist (25 years of experience) passionate about passing on my knowledge in French and German. In parallel with my work as a translator (or transcreator in the sense of transposing a content from a cultural context to an other) for corporate groups as well as for governmental bodies I have taught privately and in schools (classes - small groups -1:1) allowing students to achieve the best grades in their GCSEs, A-Levels and IB - Abitur and Maturität in Germany and Switzerland. I also do tutoring for university students, adults and professionals (conversation, beginners and advanced students). Next to loving the languages themselves (grammar, spelling, idioms) and all what they convey about a specific culture I have a great interest in all cultural works and processes (politics, philosophy, literature, cinema etc., arts and humanities in general) which obviously can nurture my teaching.

Sandra is a great tutor. She is very professional, knowledgeable and genuinely passionate about the French language. She has a very engaging manner and helped our son achieve a top grade at his GCSE exam.
I would highly recommend her.
As the father of children she has taught I quote them: "she can be demanding - but she surly is a great teacher!"
Sandra is a passionate, clear, precise and very patient teacher. Highly recommend her.
Sandra taught French to my son for him to take his GCSE independantly from school (where he was studying Spanish). He really enjoyed the lessons and secured a 9. Thank you Sandra.
