About Yichi
Hello, I'm Yichi! I am a native Chinese speaker currently completing my Juris Doctor degree. Balancing demanding legal studies with my experience working as a local barista has taught me the value of both academic rigor and warm, everyday communication. I want to teach Chinese because I love connecting with people from diverse backgrounds and sharing the richness of my culture. Hello, I’m Yichi! I am a passionate native Mandarin speaker dedicated to helping you achieve fluency in Chinese. My lessons are designed for students of all levels—whether you are a high school student needing exam support or an adult looking to learn conversational Chinese for travel or work.
My teaching approach is immersive and practical. Instead of strictly following a textbook, I use real-life scenarios, interactive dialogue practice, and authentic media to make learning natural and enjoyable. A standard session is 60 minutes long, split between learning new vocabulary/structures and actively practicing them in conversation. I pride myself on creating a patient, supportive environment where you feel confident making mistakes and speaking up.
