I am a highly skilled and experienced pianist, trumpet player and conductor who has demonstrated the ability to work at a professional level during a very successful career spanning over 30 years. I have undertaken musical appointments as pianist in residence for Her Majesty the Queen and the wider Royal Family and played at Royal weddings and wedding anniversaries as well as having personally performed for foreign royalty, UK Prime Ministers and US Presidents. I have also supported well known names from the show business world including Sir Tim Rice, Ronnie Corbett, Engelbert Humperdink and Tony Christie to name but a few. I have also arranged music that has been performed at high profile concerts including the Royal Albert Hall, London. I currently teach in two schools in Shropshire and teach online from home. I can also teach music theory and have been successful as a private tutor helping students pass GCSE and A Level with the OCR Examining Board. I have a 100% pupil pass rate for all practical and theory exams.
I started to playing piano at the age of six. From the age of 10 I studied with eminent pianist Dr Colin Kingsley in Edinburgh. A move to England saw me study with Neville Dilkes, associate conductor of the Philomusica of London. I have the distinction of having been awarded medals by the Worshipful Company of Musicians, London for solo performances on piano and I also have an LRSM Diploma from the Royal Schools of Music.
Learning a musical instrument should be fun! I try to tailor all of my teaching to the student's requirements. I have pupils off all ages and abilities and have a 100% pass rate for exams.
