About Adrian
I have been teaching in Year 6 since 2011 helping my pupils achieve excellent SATS results in Maths and English.
I am Head of Maths at my school and a mastery specialist in the subject, trained in the very latest techniques of using concrete resources and pictorial methods to help children fully understand concepts. Superficial ‘short cuts’, that can get children through tests but which do little to help them develop a deep understanding of the subject, aren’t for me!
I have been a primary school teacher for 11 years, having retrained after enjoying a highly-successful 20 year career as a journalist.
I have previously successfully tutored children as young as 6 or 7 preparing for KS1 SATS, but specialise in older primary pupils preparing for the end of KS2 SATS. I am equally at home teaching reading, writing and grammar as I am maths.
