About Talina
The Spanish language has been one of my greatest loves thus far and you will see this through the way that I teach.
I specialized in Spanish at the University of Ottawa, lived in Madrid, Spain for a year and participated in three Humanitarian Projects in the Dominican Republic.
I wanted to learn even more about the language and how to effectively teach it, that I also completed my Masters degree in Spanish at the University of Ottawa.
I have taught groups as large as 30 in person and also virtually. I have also tutored adults individually, focusing on their oral and written expression.

If you love learning about new cultures, cuisine and Spanish speaking countries, I am the right fit for you.
A typical lesson with me always starts with listening to a song in Spanish followed by 10 minutes of conversational practice.
We then learn some new vocabulary on a theme that we have chosen together and complete a short writing exercise to put those words into context.
We wrap up with a short reading exercise or game that includes the new words we have learned that day and some from previous lessons.
What sets me apart as a tutor is the fact that I learnt Spanish as an adult and am fully trilingual. I know from experience what it takes to truly learn a new language and become fluent.
