About Megan
I’m passionate about sharing French language and culture, and I love watching my students gain confidence and grow to appreciate the language—even those who initially didn’t enjoy French. Seeing learners transform their abilities and develop a genuine interest is incredibly rewarding. I believe positive reinforcement is essential, and my goal is to help students feel proud of their progress every step of the way. Past students and parents often describe me as patient, encouraging, and approachable—qualities I think are vital when learning a new language. I teach students of all ages and levels, from school learners preparing for GCSE or A-Level, to adults learning French for work, travel, or personal enrichment. Lessons are 60 minutes, fully tailored to your level, goals, and learning style. My approach focuses on real-life communication — not just memorising set phrases. I explain grammar and vocabulary clearly, using effective memory techniques I’ve developed over five years of French tutoring. Lessons are supportive, engaging, and cover all key skills: speaking, listening, reading, and writing. Alongside French tutoring, I’ve also worked as an English as a Foreign Language teacher for the past two years, which has strengthened my understanding of how languages are learnt and taught — especially for adult learners. I hold a degree in French, have lived in France for three years, and have helped adults gain the confidence to use French in everyday life and even relocate to francophone countries. I'm also highly familiar with GCSE and A-Level exams, and have helped students progress significantly — including raising grades from borderline Foundation to 8/9 at Higher Tier.
