Interactive conversation is the best way to improve your performance - a challenge which does work! Students may need to prepare topics in advance with my guidance. I also love to explore grammar and expression through the use of interesting texts. I am fascinated by the connections between languages and can help students retain more of their learning by helping them understand the links between English and French in grammar and vocabulary. If you are studying for a particular exam, I may well be able to help you get the highest marks by practising exam technique, thus reducing stress. My ultimate aim is to make students independent, so that they can support their own learning.
I have taught languages in a variety of settings, from primary to A-level, for many years. I now work part-time, and so can enjoy more face-to-face tuition, the best way to teach and to learn a language.
After teaching in France, I qualified in England in 2002 and worked in secondary education, including A-level French. I also work with primary age children and have many authentic French language resources to encourage learners of any age to be independent and naturalistic.
My French is extremely fluent and adaptable to students' needs - whether you need to work on expanding your vocabulary, developing your skill with grammar, or holding a productive conversation in French, I can find a way to help you progress.
If cancelling lessons, please let me know 24 hours in advance otherwise the full fee is due. I am happy to tutor groups of students of a similar level by arrangement. Travel beyond a 2 mile radius is charged at £2 per mile in addition to the travel fee.
