About Joel
I don’t think there has been a moment since I was 14 I haven’t been involved in music. Playing shows in tribute acts and cover bands through my 20s made me a confident and versatile musician. I have been teaching music for almost a decade as a high school teacher, guitar tuition at home (children and adults) in schools and teaching groups of children to be in a rock band. I have a great ear and can figure out many tunes I haven’t heard before pretty quickly and you can see that process and how I do it too!

I teach guitar, bass, and ukulele in a relaxed, friendly way that helps you build confidence while having fun. Every lesson is tailored to your goals, whether you’re picking up an instrument for the first time or looking to improve your technique, rhythm, or musicality. I offer half an hour lessons or an hour, will do pair lessons as well. I focus on learning through songs you enjoy, clear step-by-step guidance, and practical tips that make progress feel natural and rewarding. My aim is to create enjoyable sessions that keep you motivated and excited to play. I also am experienced in exam prep (RSL, Trinity etc) and can work with younger students who may already have guitar lessons in school.
