I work holistically taking into account the learning style of individual students and adapt my approach to their needs. I cover a broad range of Arts and Academic criteria ranging from teaching the guitar and stylistic jam session to grade 8 in Rockschool and ABRSM in addition to IT coding and advanced computer skills.
My main focus will not be to teach you to parrot what I do, but rather to show you the approach to music which will get good results. I will let you choose which songs you'd like to learn and show you the process of learning a song by ear, which is much more useful than reading tabs.
I will give entry level and intermediate lessons. I will start from the comprehension of the instruments, the right position to have, basic music reading, teaching then simple pattern in order to become comfortable with the instrument. I will teach both to children and adults.
I’m a mostly practical teacher who looks at theory artistically. Applying its concepts before I read about it. For teaching purposes, of course, it’s important that theory is involved, but it would be 50/50. I teach anyone who is willing to learn, at complete beginner level.
I offer the following tuition: Guitar — electric (beginner to advanced), acoustic (beginner to advanced), and classical (up to grade 8) Ukulele (beginner to advanced, casual or RGT grades) Songwriting, composition, and arranging (beginner to advanced, for any instrument or combination) GCSE, A Level, and university level tutoring towards performances, exams, and coursework/composition
I teach all skill levels how to create and compose music on the spot. This is the most liberating aspect of being a musician.
The way I structure lessons is by showing you how to do something properly and to then assign exercises for you to go and practice. Learning guitar is maybe 5% being taught and 95% practising. However if you begin practising doing something the incorrect way, it can be 10x as hard to train yourself to do it right.
Lessons are entirely bespoke and can be tailored to suit your needs and interests. I can teach you from scratch, or if you already play, can guide you in the best direction for you to progress.

My approach is that your learning experience should be fun while getting you playing the music you want to be playing.
My teaching method is very hands on, as I find a practical approach breaks the ice quicker, and when teaching a subject like music, you need to be able to tell me where your confidence is at straight off so I can help you with no hesitation or uncertainty.
