About Kierstin
I have been a teacher in New York for six years and before that I was a writing tutor and an ESL instructor while I was in college. I have worked with students from a variety of different backgrounds and with different levels of ability. I believe that everyone can learn and grow with the right support.

Hello!
I have been teaching in New York for six years and have experience working with students k-12. I have worked in general education and special education classrooms. I start by getting to know where the student is and where they're trying to go. Instruction only works when it meets students where they're at, so getting to know you is the most important step! I have a lot of experience differentiating instruction for students of various abilities and understand that learning is as much about the way a student feels about learning as the actual content being taught.
I enjoy teaching through guided practice followed by independent practice with feedback and the opportunity for more practice. I use extensive visual modeling when teaching math concepts.
