About Sarah
I have 7+ years in active librarianship with public, school, and academic libraries
I am certified in computer languages and systems, earning my A.S., A.A.S., and Bachelor's in technology.
I am on schedule to complete my Master's in Library and Information Studies in Spring 2021.
Assisting others in overcoming learning difficulties and accomplishing their educational goals is my professional passion. As a Librarian and information professional, I have a desire to share not only my knowledge of how to do and find things, but to inspire you in goal-setting with the vision you have for your future education.
Honestly, I began teaching the day my younger sister was born. She read her first book, cooked her first meal, and learned to drive with me by her side. I don't remember a time when I wasn't helping someone learn or try something new.
My background is in non-traditional education, being first a homeschooled then a non-traditional, distanced learning student through my college years. I've worked with students from pre-K to degree seeking adults at the public library and privately as a tutor.

I believe it is important to ask the student about their goals and meet them right where they're at. I would check with them on their prefered learning and communication method and begin guiding them one-on-one on the subject until it's mastered.
Many different students! Most recently, I've tutored an adult nursing student returning to college, a reluctant reader in 3rd grade, and graduate students in library school.
Do your research and find the tutor that will work best for you. Look for the tutor that not only knows a lot, but is the most helpful to you in how they teach.
Something that always brings a smile to my face is seeing students have their "ah-ha" moment. When something just clicks and they know they're doing right! I loved seeing my student, Norma go from being afraid to turn her laptop on to typing up research papers for her online BSN degree.
