About David
I have been a musician most of my life and played in a number of nationally touring bands over the years. I also studied music history and music theory as part of my college degree so I understand a wide variety of music. Rock music is my strong suit but I am also versed in blues, funk, and more. I am a patient person and easy to get along with. I feel confident I can help you reach your music goals!

Teaching has been a rewarding way to give back the knowledge I've been given over the years. Nothing brings me more joy than playing music and enabling others to be able to play confidently. I'm a strong communicator and a patient person so I feel strongly that I can help you reach your music goals.
I have played bass guitar for 15 years and acoustic guitar for about 8 years. I have played in a variety of bands for most of the last 10 years. I studied music theory in both high school and college. I was a music tutor in college for a couple semesters.

We would begin by gauging your current skill level and familiarity with the instrument. Then discuss what your goals are from the lessons and find out what kinds of music you want to be able to play. Once I have a sense of these things, we can structure the lessons to be a combination of learning basic theory/technique and learning songs from musicians you enjoy.
When I tutored in college I was working with foreign exchange students helping them to understand the basics of American Music and culture. I have also taught a few students in their mid 20's who had little previous music experience.
