About Evan
There’s a difference between playing the guitar and teaching the guitar. This is a lesson I’ve learned slowly but surely over the past decade. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve said to a friend or family member, “why should anyone take guitar lessons from me? There are so many great players out there!” And there are a lot of great players out there. But I’m beginning to accept the fact that there aren’t as many great teachers. Great teachers care about teaching, they care about their students. Great teachers don’t just speak the language, they show you how to speak it too. I received my BA in music from Boston College in 2012 and I’ve been honing the craft of teaching ever since. I absolutely love the guitar, and I love watching new players fall in love with it too. If you’ve ever wanted to learn, or even if you’ve started but you’re in a rut, or want to dive deeper into a topic, I am here to help. I love the feeling of watching a student get a concept that they've been struggling with. That lightbulb moment where it turns on for them. I know because I've been there too.

We'll make sure your right and left hand feel comfortable and nimble with tried and tested exercises so that we can quickly start learning the songs you want to play.
