About Patrick
Hi, I have a passion for badminton and have been training and playing the sport for 4 years now and I play competitively before. Now I am a student-athlete but I can and will be able to help students achieve their goals of being physically fit, knowledgeable of the sport, and teach the students about the sports and different techniques, skills, and footworks applied to become better at badminton.
I got started teaching when I first taught my brother who knows how to play but isn't at the level where I am at, and he learned a lot of things from me that helped him to become better at playing badminton.
The training that I have that relates to my work are,
- training the mind to be mentally strong
- training the body to be physically fit to compete and play at a more high-phased or difficult game.

My typical process for working with a new student is to assess the student's skills and abilities in the sport so I know where I could start teaching him/ her. I will also assess where the skills that they are weak at and where they are good at.
After I assess their skills, I will start from the point where they have no or little knowledge about so I can teach them the basics, after that the advanced and so on...
The type of students that I have worked with are mostly students who are willing to learn and listen.
The advice that I would give a student looking to hire a teacher in my area of expertise is that they should first tryout one session and evaluate what happened and what they did, if that session helped them in performing better, and if they learned something new from that session, then they might as well try another and see how it goes.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
The questions that students think through before talking to teachers about their needs are to be as detailed, clear and concise as much as possible so that the teacher could understand what the student needs and wants to improve on.
