About Raia
I am a service-oriented creative and educator with experience assisting in marketing, branding, K-12 education, and web/product design and development. I solve problems in innovative ways, encourage my students and co-workers to succeed, and I appreciate a good challenge. Want to learn more about me? I have PreK-12 teaching experience, and I currently work as the Program Assistant to the Art Education Department at Winthrop University. My versatile skillset and knowledge of multiple artistic mediums makes me a useful teacher, and I have worked on projects in social justice and community activism.

When working with a new student, I assess his/her/their interests. I often ask students for portfolio samples or to draw a timed self portrait upon the first meeting. From there, we can determine the student's individual goals and artistic objectives. I employ a holistic, inclusive, and progressive approach to art education.
