About Madison
Hello! My name is Madison Rush and have a B.A. in Art and Visual Technology with a concentration in painting and a minor in photography from George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia. I’ve spent the last five years teaching art lessons to students ages 3 to 17 and hosting paint parties and mixed media/art journaling event for all ages. I am happy to work with you to create exactly what you were looking for. Whether it’s a Well rounded art education for your child or a fun night with your friends creating a painting of your choosing, I am here to help students in touch with their creative side. I believe in building a strong foundation in drawing. The first step is typically working with a student to understand how to take what they see and accurately put it on paper. Traditionally I begin students with four lessons in drawing followed by four in acrylic painting, four in watercolor, and four in mixed media. After this we assess what the student is most specifically interested in or experiment with different mediums. Of course this is tailorable to each individual person.
