About Hugh
When you draw something, you begin to see it in new ways, more fully, as if for the first time. The ability to draw and paint what we see around us is not a gift reserved for a select few. We all can learn to view the world with an artist's eye and develop skills to create art. It just takes patience, guidance, and, most importantly, the want to. Hugh Dunnahoe welcomes beginning students in his classes as well as experienced artists. His individualized instruction guides those just getting started and offers experienced artists a better understanding of complex art fundamentals, including composition, color, visual illusion and depth, and technical skill.
The weekly classes at Dunnahoe's studio are relaxed and informal. During the three hour sessions, students of all levels work at their own pace, following their own artistic goals. And there is coffee.
Drawing and painting is good for the soul. If you've ever wished you could paint a picture, but thought that you could never learn, now is the best time to give that dream a chance. And a gift of art lessons for a friend or family member would certainly bring a smile.
Hugh Dunnahoe's professional experience in illustration and graphic design has provided him a solid platform of communication from which to interpret his subjects, and a mastery of a wide variety of art media and styles. Currently working mostly in oils, his original paintings are boldly diverse in style. Hugh's work is an exploration of relationships - our connection to the natural and urban landscapes we encounter, and to each other.
