I love seeing a student take charge of their learning! I make sure students are equipped with skills to tackle not only the task in front of them, but any other future tasks that come their way. It's all about building great skills!
I began teaching in 2013 for a free community program for adults learning ESL. I fell in love with it and went back to school to get my Master of Education degree!
I have 9 years of experience (since 2013) and a Master of Education, focusing on literacy and TESOL.

First, we talk about goals and learning styles. Then, we map out a plan for what they'd like to learn first.
I have worked with teens and adults in ESL, English composition, literature, and literacy skills. My students have ranged from all kinds of educational backgrounds and abilities. I meet you where you are!
Look for someone with whom you get along well. It makes all the difference when you enjoy your time together!
A student came to me interested in improving her skills for the GED test, but had no knowledge of computers. We worked together to make her comfortable with both the technology and the content at the same time by navigating practice test questions together while using the computer. She quickly was able to both log on and pass a practice test all on her own!
