About Melissa
I am a certified English teacher who has tutored for over 25 years. I have tutored English, writing, reading, and study skills (for academic courses and SAT/AP testing) to students in grades 6+ (undergraduate and graduate school as well) on multiple levels (college level, academic level, special education, socially-emotionally challenged, students with learning disabilities, students with Autism). I have also assisted students in public speaking and research.
I enjoy helping students uncover their potential as learners and build confidence in their English skills.
I have taught English at the high school level for 27 years. I have tutored students (ranging from 6-graduate school) for over 20 years. I have tutored independently, through businesses, and at colleges.

We make a plan for lessons, practice, time management, and any other concerns/ideas the student has for the sessions. I talk about my teaching and tutoring background, my education, and my goals for our sessions.
