About Anissa
I love working to help writers achieve their potential. Guiding them to where they want to be in their work while getting their message across in their own words. I am a uni student and working towards my own teaching pathways do work such as tutoring has helped me to understand new perspectives in writing. I am excited to work new people and students at any point:

I have worked with Cal Poly HU for the last year as both a writing consultant at the writing studio as well as a writing fellow which is more of a personal tutor for one specific class.

Usually after introductions I ask them how they are feeling about the work, if they are exhausted with it or just nervous about the work to be done etc. after that we get into the concept of the assignment as well as the context. What are we looking at? What does it apply to in terms of the work done in class? What stage are you in writing so far? After that we can get started by either build and outline or reading through what they have and building from there. Throughout and after I am asking if they have any questions or concerns about anything done thus far or maybe they had a change of heart and want to change the topic or perhaps they have a new idea for a direction they want to go in. Either way I'm happy to help.
