About Aydan
Hello! I have been a writing center consultant for three years, and am always ecstatic to work with students on their writing. Additionally, I am a peer mentor on my campus, and help students with study skills/time management/test-taking anxiety. Off-campus, I work with a student in high school towards reaching her academic goals. Both jobs are equally rewarding and give me a great opportunity to help students reach their academic and personal goals.
I started when I was recommended as a writing consultant in high school and have not stopped tutoring since!
I have been a writing tutor for three years, both in high school and college. I had to apply for the job twice, and have only received A's on my college essays. Additionally, I understand that being a writing tutor is a collaborative job, and not about editing. When I work with students, no matter the assignment, I try my best to have a conversation about their writing, rather than "showing" them how to write.

Every time I work with a new student on their writing, I like to ask if they have a prompt or any guidelines, where they are at in their process, and when their paper is due. Then, I like to work collaboratively with the student and discuss their writing with them, while also improving the content of their paper.
I have worked with one elementary student, all levels of high school, all levels of college (including transfer students over 25), and one bilingual student.
