About Ann-marie
Teaching is my life. I retired from the College of Education at Appalachian State six years ago. I am anxious to teach again. I was a teacher of children with special needs for 21 years before getting a PhD from the University of Illinois to teach on the college level. I love to help students who may be struggling discover and then work up to their potential. Everyone can learn if they are taught correctly. I care about each individual tudent I can help.
I taught children with special needs for 21 years. Then I received a PhD from the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign in early childhood education in 2001. I retired 5 years ago from ASU where I taught future teachers to teach for 16 years. (With age comes experience.)
