About Gwendolyn
I am currently a distance learning teacher for grades 5 - 8 with Oak Meadow School, which is based in Putney, VT. I love my job! However I am now finding myself with more time to extend to more learners. I have been teaching and tutoring for more than 16 years. I Like getting to know each student and establishing a good rapport that makes everyone feel comfortable. Getting to know how a person learns best leads to a better understanding of the best method of approach to help a student learn. I encourage creativity and eagerly welcome humor and "thinking - outside- of -the- box" to achieve great results. Although I am currently working with middle schoolers, I have taught students that range in age from kindergarten through high school, including special education. I hold a masters degree in elementary education and curriculum design from Keene State College. This background has helped to enable me to design lessons and lesson plans that best fit a student's style of learning.
I am currently a distance learning teacher of students in 5th through 8th grade. I teach them English, social studies, science and math. I now have time to take on more students, and would welcome a chance to do some additional tutoring.
