About Emily
My goal is to support anyone learning something new and needing assistance. I am an early childhood and K-8 trained and K-8 General and K-12 ESOL endorsed teacher wanting to share my skills. How can I help you?
In my freshman year of undergrad I realized the most enjoyable part of my day was my work-study position as a staff member at an elementary afterschool program. I changed my major to Education, discovered my passion for equitable educational opportunities for non-English speaking students in United States classrooms, and dove into developing the skills needed to best serve that community. Including teaching English in Oaxaca, Mexico during a semester study abroad.
I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood/Elementary Education from Linfield College. Along with an English to Speakers of Other Languages Endorsement and State Teaching Licensure.
I currently teach third grade in a magnet Spanish Immersion program, meaning I teach third-grade content in both English and Spanish.
Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education, English to Speakers of Other Languages Endorsement, Currently working toward a Master's Degree in Reading Instruction. Proficient in Spanish.
