About Mia
Hello!
My name is Mia and I am an independent tutor. Why do I work as an independent tutor? I want to be able to help children one on one. I like working with the same children to make sure they are succeeding in their education. When children are placed with different tutors, it makes it very difficult for them to actually receive help. Tutors who work with regular clients are able to develop an interpersonal relationship making it easier to meet their needs. I have worked as a tutor since the age of 15. I have experience in working with children who have learning disabilities and behavioral issues. My experience ranges from tutoring with children from the age of 5 to 15. I will never take a job that I believe I can not handle. I make sure I am able to meet the needs of my clients and if I am unable to do so, I make sure to refer them to someone who will. My background ranges from working as an independent tutor to also working with children in a non-profit organization. I am CPR/AED certified. I am currently pursuing my bachelors in psychology and hope to attend medical school in 3 years to achieve my goal of becoming a pediatric psychiatrist.

When working with new students, I like to bond with them a little bit before. I know what it is like working with someone new and sometimes kids may be intimidated by a new person in their life. It is also very important to see if the childre has any disabilities holding them back.

My son, Bruno, struggles with math and Mia takes the time to break down every step of the equation to ensure he understands everything.
Mia had tutored my child and helped her learn her multiplication very quickly. I highly recommend her if your child needs help. Mia has her own way of teaching which I can say, first hand, proves effective.
