About Dorcas
I have over 10 years' experience teaching English to adults and young people for university, business, Cambridge exams and IELTS, and for personal enjoyment. I am CELTA and DELTA qualified, and I have a high success rate when helping students achieve their goals.
I find teaching to be exciting, challenging, and dynamic. I thrive on the energy given out by my students in class and I find great professional fulfilment in watching my students learn and develop, as I learn and develop from teaching them. Each of my classes will have different objectives which are explicitly communicated to my students, and in its delivery each class is varied since learning preferences, expectations, and cultural factors change from one student to the next. To enable my lessons to be personalised I regularly create my own materials, allowing me to be responsive to students’ needs, abilities, and expectations.
I believe that given the right environment every student can flourish.
