About Christine
I see myself as a friendly guide whose job is to develop students' voice and insight through sessions filled with dialogue and exercises. I believe that I am learning from the student as much as they are learning from me. I enjoy learning how different people learn and adapting my teaching style to adapt to that mode. Keeping students' autonomy in mind as I teach is the most effective and stimulating means of educating and learning.
I am especially adept at teaching students how to research and write both critical and creative papers that allow their individuality to stand out. I am highly knowledgeable in English, Literature, History, Philosophy, and Art. As an educator, I am committed to students understanding the importance of not only and acquiring knowledge, but how they can use this knowledge in a larger context. I seek to help students find joy and excitement in learning and expanding their fields of knowledge and interest.
I enjoy getting to know different types of students and watching them develop both their critical thinking skills and writing. It is always so satisfying when a student finally reaches a point in which they are confident in moving onto more independent modes of learning and writing.
