About Betsy
I taught for 33 years in Middle School, High School and College, as well as in a Talented and Gifted program. I am passionate about teaching and learning, and continue to take classes whenever I can for the simple enjoyment of learning new material! I like the challenge of helping learners find success. There is ALWAYS a way to learn subject matter, and the creative challenge is what drives me to help my students.
I have a B.A. in English and an M.A. in Education
I like to help students find their own solutions to learning problems and I try to make a connection with each student that allows mutual trust to build into confidence and ultimately into success. Watching students find their "Aha" moment, when the connection with their work falls into place is priceless to me.

I like to talk to get to know the student, to find out what his or her interests and talents are, and then discuss what their learning issues are. I'd also like to find out what their peferred method of learning is, for example reading something, hearing about it or watching it being demonstrated.
