About Caroline

I am a certified elementary school teacher who has a master's degree in reading. I am a certified reading specialist and have taught grades pre-K through fifth grade. I worked as an editor at an educational publishing company specializing in college admissions, so I am very familiar with college application writing. I have also been tutoring for almost 20 years. In addition to that, I have been an ESL professor at Rowan University, tutoring students speaking English as an alternate language (18-70 year students!). I am currently a professor at The College of New Jersey who teaches elementary school literacy classes. If you need help with reading, writing, grammar, speaking, or writing that college admissions application essay, I am your person!

I received my undergraduate education degree in elementary education, and continued on to get my masters degree as a certified reading specialist.

I spend the first session just talking about strengths, weaknesses, goals, and expectations. That way, I can tailor lesson plans and session goals to meet individual needs.

I have worked with all kinds of students… Preschool through college students (as well as professional adults seeking ESL learning), gifted students through struggling students, non-native English speakers through advanced English speakers, etc.

As a college professor, I receive five star ratings from my college students who take my courses.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
What do they excel at? Struggle with? Need to master? What kind of goals do you have? What is your timeframe for this? What characteristics do you seek in a teacher? How much time do you have to devote to your education? What are your expectations?
