About Liana
I'm a Harvard grad and a writer. I pulled off a perfect score on the SAT's Writing Portion, and also on the Literature SAT II. I was president of the Harvard Lampoon, and spent my time at school editing academic and humorous writing of others. I love the writing process, and I'm here to help your child through it at the moment that matters the most.
I advise eleventh and twelfth-grade students at every stage of the college essay process. We take a structured approach with emphasis on both content and style, always keeping our goal in mind: a fantastic essay that allows the student to shine.
Our first and most important task is deciding what to write. We brainstorm together, taking into account the admissions officers' perspectives. Everything is on the table; it's important not to rush. We talk, I ask a lot of questions, we talk some more. Next comes the writing and the revising. I work with each student to bring out their unique voice so that the essay is a well-polished and authentic reflection of who they are as a person. I am an experienced essay coach, both for the Common App personal statement and for the wide range of supplemental essays that students may encounter in their applications.
The Common App essay is a crucial part of any college application. This is your child's change to show their personality, to win the admissions officers over in their own voice. Every child is extraordinary, and there's no excuse for an essay that is anything short of that. It's got to be a winner. I can get you there.
