About Jane
I have a huge range of experience with Shakespeare and Early modern drama, having studied it from an academic and historical point, written a thesis on Shakespeare's connections with contemporary feminist theory, and spent years performing it with various theater companies. I appreciate the dynamic ways in which Early Modern drama must be approached, and the unique challenges it may present for each student.
I wrote my undergraduate thesis on filicide in Shakespeare, and for years participated in the National Shakespeare Recitation Contest. In Fall of 2021 I'll begin my masters degree in Shakespeare Studies in the United Kingdom.
I have a huge love for Shakespeare, and think that there are few things more empowering than feeling mastery over his language and work. I understand how intimidating such works can seem, and love to help students find the joy and beauty in them.

The first thing I want to know, even before identifying problem areas, is what the student finds interesting about the subject. I find it important to keep students interested and excited, even while they struggle, as that just makes progress all the more satisfying.
