About Michelle
Coming from a college student perspective, I use different methods to help my students learn. Instead of just jumping in and tutoring, I based on the student's level of what they already know and then incorporate what they don't know. I can make study guides and worksheets for them to improve whenever they are not tutoring.
The reason why I have started tutoring is that I love to help people of all ages. My main goal is to become an Occupational Therapist and one day, be with Doctors Without Borders. When I was in high school, I was a PALs student for my senior year. I have loved the experience that brought me to mentor students. I want to make a difference in someone's life and to see them improve to their best capabilities. I don't think of tutoring as a job, but a way to help those who are willing to learn. My friends (who have tutored as well) have told me that I have a great ear for listening and patient when it comes to helping others. I hope I can use this to become a great tutor.

My typical process when working with a student is to understand where they are in the subject they are confused about. For example, Anatomy. If a student is confused in Anatomy, I would gauge at where they are at before proceeding, so I can understand what they know and what they don't know. Then after that, I would know how to proceed with the process and how to help the student.
